Occupational Health and Safety National Mirror Committee

This committee actively participates in the drafting, voting and reviewing of standard being developed by ISO/TC 283 Occupational, Health and Safety. This scope of this committee is to focus on standardisation in the field of occupational health and safety management to enable an organization to control its OH&S risks and improve its OH&S performance.

Members of this committee, namely; Mrs. Jacqueline Scott-Brown and Cmdr Michael Rodgriuez have actively participated in the development of international standards such as:

1. ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems- Requirements with guidance for use
2. ISO 45003:2021 Occupational health and safety management- Psychological health and safety at work- Guideline for managing psychological risks.

The committee in moving forward will seek to adopt these standards as Jamaican standards.

Another major accomplishment for this committee, is naming of our very own Mr. Dwight Simms at the Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean.
