The Betting, Gaming & Lotteries Commission (BGLC) is a statutory body of the Ministry of Finance in the Government of Jamaica, established in 1975 under the provisions of the Betting, Gaming & Lotteries Act. The Commission’s mandate is to regulate and control the operation of betting and gaming and the conduct of lotteries in the Island of Jamaica and to facilitate and enable sustainable growth in the Gaming Industry.

Renewal of Gaming Machine Licenses 2019-2020

Deadline to Renew Gaming Machine Licenses is March 31, 2019.

Gaming Machine and Premises Operators must submit applications for gaming licences by March 31, 2019.

Requirements for Changing The Number of Gaming Machines Operated at A Single Premises

Gaming Machine Operators who intend to change their operations to either more than or less than 20 gaming machines on a single premises, are required to notify the Commission at least thirty (30) days prior to implementing the change.

ADVISORY – Changes to Payments for CHASE Contributions

Bookmakers, Gaming Machine Operators (imported slot machines) and Lottery Promoters

Effective January 1, 2018, contributions normally paid directly to the CHASE Fund account at NCB are changed to a fee that is to be paid directly to Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ).

Public Consultation – Changes to the Responsible Gaming Code of Conduct

The Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission is seeking feedback from gaming industry stakeholders on proposed amendments to the conditions of license for all categories of gaming related to the Responsible Gaming Code of Conduct.

This consultation provides an opportunity for stakeholders to review and provide input on the Responsible Gaming Code of Conduct.

The consultation period is from November 15, 2017 to January 17, 2018.

The Consultation Paper outlines the proposed Responsible Gaming Code of Conduct.
